Story of Zulu

Zulu felt deeply unhappy in the city and fled into the forest.

At first, she was defenceless and alone.
In the city, everything was within reach —
in the forest, even a tiny berry could take hours to find.
Though she was tired and sad, Zulu was determined never to return.

She lived for years without harming a single creature,
and in return, the forest taught her how to face life’s hardships gently —
to move with patience, to breathe with calm.

In that peace, a quiet sadness grew.
She wanted to share what the forest had given her.
So, with her own hands, Zulu prepared boxes —
each filled with goodness and calm —
and left them at the doorsteps of the people in the city.
Then, she would return to her forest, silently, before dawn.

One morning, she awoke to find the animals gathered around her.
When she stood, she felt a strange warmth,
a power she had never known before.
The forest had crowned her.
Smiling softly, Zulu spread her wings —
and rose into the light, carrying the forest within her.
